Q: What is AuthMailer?
A: AuthMailer is a cloud service that will solve most of your email communications problems. With AuthMailer, you can send emails regardless of the number of emails you send and receive, and regardless of the connection you are using.

Q: Who should use AuthMailer?
A: The most affordable product we offer, AuthMailer Personal, is meant for mobile users (people using an iPhone or iPad, for example) who often use visited networks. Typically, sending emails from outside your operator's network (via a hotel network, a public WLAN, etc.) is prevented, which makes it more difficult for mobile users to work while on the move. AuthMailer resolves this problem by offering a functional and reliable communication service that is encrypted. Our other products (Small Business, Medium and Large) use the same operating principle. The only difference is the allowed monthly email volume. AuthMailer Large is meant for automatically sending a large number of emails: the service can be limitlessly scaled.

Q: How does the AuthMailer Large email limit work?
A: AuthMailer Large includes 100,000 emails per month. If you're about to exceed your monthly volume limit, you can buy more volume at the price of $10.00 USD per 100,000 emails. You can increase the limit as many times as you like, which means that you can scale AuthMailer Large to any volume.

Q: How does AuthMailer work?
A: When you send an email via our server, the email will be processed by several background servers. The emails are divided among several servers to balance out the load, increase service reliability and speed up communications.

Q: How does the service's encryption work?
A: The communications are encrypted at several stages. When you send an email from your computer or mobile phone via AuthMailer, the communications between you and AuthMailer will be encrypted; the default encryption is 256-bit AES. When the email leaves the AuthMailer server to the recipient's server, the servers also attempt to create a strongly encrypted connection. Please note, however, that encryption of the communications from the AuthMailer system forwards cannot be guaranteed due to reasons AuthMailer is unable to influence.

Q: How do you ensure high service quality?
A: We manage and maintain the data centre we use to provide the service and the internet connections ourselves. We are not dependent on any single operator. Furthermore, our entire system is redundant.

Q: Which port number should I use and why do you offer several alternatives?
A: Many ISPs prevent communications via port 25 to limit the amount of spam. This is why we recommend using the port 587 as the primary alternative with AuthMailer. The other options available are ports 2525 and 465. The port number 465 is only able to receive SSL encrypted communications.

Q: What does AuthMailer Backup MX do?
A: AuthMailer Backup MX ensures that emails that are critical to your business will go through even if your email server is unavailable due to a hardware malfunction or a maintenance interruption. If the connection to your email server is lost, the AuthMailer servers will accept all of your incoming emails and store them until the connection to your server has been restored. When the connection has been restored, the AuthMailer server will send your stored emails to you via your email server.

Q: Will the AuthMailer services allow spam to reach me?
A: No, they won't. AuthMailer Backup MX is able to filter more than 99% of spam with efficient, monitored blacklists and greylisting. Our attitude towards spam is highly negative: we will make sure that no spam goes through our service.

Q: What mail servers do you support?
A: We support all mail servers that use SMTP to transfer their mail. Non-standard SMTP ports are also supported. This includes all popular email servers such as Microsoft Exchange, Postfix, Sendmail, Imail, Qmail, and many more.

Q: Do you support SPF?
A: Yes. Please configure your SPF records to use "include" syntax pointed to spf.authmailer.com.

Q: Do you support DKIM?
A: Yes. DKIM allows email senders to sign their messages and for recipients to be able to verify that those messages are genuine. It is mainly designed to reduce spoofing of the senders email addresses or message content. If you need DKIM, please contact our technical support for instructions.

Q: Can you assign me a dedicated IP address?
A: Yes. We provide dedicated IP addresses at no additional cost to verified AuthMailer Large customers. If you need a dedicated IP address, please contact our technical support for instructions.
